Nick is a London-based Chartered Architect living and working in London, UK. He believes that through semi-abstract live sketches, one can appreciate the unique architecture of a place in greater detail. The principles of perspective are followed sometimes strictly, sometimes loosely, often with an initial markup in pencil. As his drawing style matures, the pen leaves the surface of the paper less and less, whilst maintaining the architectural form being depicted, demonstrating the architectural 'thinking hand'.
He sketches urban landscapes using ink and aquarelle paper. Watercolour is applied on occasion. He approaches the city from a unique architectural perspective. For Nick, the street scape is a theatrical scene. He draws moments of technical interest, examining how the plethora of construction compoments (actors) bring the architectural scene to life. He believes that quick, often unfinished strokes, contribute to a better understanding of the different architectural particularities, as well as in a deeper, more detailed appreciation of the european architectural heritage.
